Consulting services

Everything between "we should expand" and your first shipment.

Take the whole process or just the stage you're stuck on. Every engagement is scoped and quoted in writing before any work starts.

01

Market Research & Country Selection

Which markets actually fit your product? We size the demand, map the competition and price levels, and give you a ranked shortlist instead of a guess.

  • Demand and market-size analysis per country
  • Competitor, pricing, and shelf-position review
  • Ranked shortlist with the reasoning behind it
Discuss this service
02

Market Entry Strategy

The plan for getting in: direct export, distributor, agent, joint venture, or your own entity — with the cost and risk of each laid out plainly.

  • Entry-model comparison and recommendation
  • Pricing and margin structure for the target market
  • Budget, timeline, and phased rollout plan
Discuss this service

The stage that stops most expansions. We handle import rules, product registration, labelling, and certification for the destination market.

  • Product registration and health/safety certification
  • Label and packaging review, including translation

04

Distributor & Partner Sourcing

We find, vet, and shortlist the importers, distributors, and retail buyers worth your time — then sit with you through the negotiation.

  • Vetted partner shortlist with background checks
  • Introductions and meeting coordination
  • Support on terms, margins, and exclusivity
Discuss this service
05

Export, Logistics & Documentation

Incoterms, freight, customs paperwork, and payment terms set up correctly the first time, so your first container doesn't sit at the port.

  • Incoterms and payment-terms guidance
  • Freight and customs-broker coordination
  • Full export documentation set

06

Launch & Ongoing Support

Being listed isn't the same as selling. We stay on through the launch and the first reorder cycles to fix what the plan didn't predict.

Markets

Our depth is in the Middle East, the GCC, and North Africa.

These are the markets we know first-hand — the registration processes, the distributors worth dealing with, and the retail channels that actually move volume. That's where we do our best work.

Core expertise

Middle East & GCC

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, and Iraq. SFDA and municipality registration, GCC labelling rules, and established distributor and retail contacts across the region.

Core expertise

North Africa

Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. Import licensing, customs practice, and the wholesale and modern-trade channels that differ sharply from one market to the next.

Beyond our core regions

We take on work in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Central Asia where the fit is right — usually helping suppliers from those markets enter the Middle East and North Africa, which is the direction we're strongest in. If your target market sits outside our core, ask us. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right firm for it rather than take the work regardless.

Process

How we work with you

  1. 1

    Assessment session

A paid 60-minute session ($99.99) on your product, your target markets, and your capacity. If expansion isn't the right move yet, we'll say so on the call.

  2. 2

    Market read & proposal

A written market read with a shortlist, plus scope, timeline, and a fixed quote for the work we recommend.

  3. 3

    Entry plan & compliance

Entry model, pricing, registration, and labelling — everything the destination market requires, handled before you ship.

  4. 4

    Partners & first shipment

Vetted distributors introduced, terms agreed, documents prepared, and the first order moved.

About Top Brands

We don't just advise on export. We do it.

Top Brands works on both sides of international trade. We consult for companies that want to enter new markets, and we supply our own food and non-food product ranges to buyers across the Middle East and North Africa.

That combination is the point. The advice we give on registration, labelling, distributor terms, and freight comes from moving real product through those same channels — not from a textbook on market entry.

Our experience is concentrated rather than spread thin. We know the Gulf and North African markets properly: which registrations take three weeks and which take six months, which distributors pay on time, and how differently the same product has to be positioned in Riyadh and in Casablanca.

We work with a limited number of consulting clients at a time so each one gets direct attention. If a market isn't worth entering, or a cheaper route exists, that's what we'll tell you.

"Choosing the wrong market costs more than entering the right one slowly."

FAQ

Common questions

How much is the first session, and what do I get for it?

The 60-minute Market Entry Assessment is $99.99. You get a full hour with a consultant on your product and target markets, followed by a written summary of what we discussed and the next steps we'd recommend. Pick a time on the calendar, answer a few questions, and pay — all in one step. The slot is confirmed as soon as payment goes through. There's no obligation to take it further.

Why isn't the first session free?

Because it isn't a sales call. We prepare beforehand and give you a real assessment in the hour — including telling you not to enter a market when that's the right answer. Charging for it means we spend the time on people who are serious, and you get advice rather than a pitch.

How are consulting fees structured after that?

Per engagement, quoted as a fixed fee after the assessment session, so you know the cost before committing. Retainer arrangements are available for ongoing expansion work.

How do I pay, and which methods do you accept?

Consultation fees are paid by card before the slot is confirmed — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device supports them, all processed by Stripe. Product orders settle by bank transfer (T/T) or letter of credit, with card accepted on sample orders. Full details in payments.

Do you work with consulting clients and product buyers separately?

Yes. Some clients only want the consulting — research, compliance, and partner sourcing for their own products. Others only buy from our food and non-food ranges. Many do both.

What are your minimum order quantities?

It depends on the category and whether you're ordering full or mixed pallets. Tell us the lines you're interested in and we'll send exact MOQs with the price list.

Which shipping terms do you offer?

FOB, CIF, and EXW, depending on the destination and your freight arrangements. We can coordinate freight and customs clearance if you'd prefer we handle it.

Can we get samples before ordering a container?

Yes. Sample orders are available for most lines so you can test the product and check it against local labelling requirements first.

How long does market entry usually take?

Research and shortlisting takes a few weeks. Registration and compliance is the variable — some markets clear in weeks, others take several months. We give you a realistic timeline in the proposal, not a best case.

Payments

How to pay

Consultation fees and trade orders work differently. Here's what we accept for each.

Consultation sessions & consulting fees

You pay while booking, on the calendar itself. The card form there is Stripe's, not ours — card details never pass through this website, and we never see or store them. Nothing is reserved until the payment is approved. Receipts are issued automatically, and company invoices are available if your accounts team needs one.

Product & container orders

Trade orders settle on the terms stated on your proforma invoice — normally a deposit on order confirmation with the balance against shipping documents. Terms are negotiable for repeat buyers.

  • Bank transfer (T/T)
  • Letter of credit (L/C)
  • SWIFT / IBAN
  • Documents against payment

Card and PayPal are accepted for sample orders, not full containers.

A note on fraud: we never ask for card numbers by email, chat, or phone, and our bank details never change mid-order. If you receive a payment request that looks like it's from us, call the number on this site to verify it before sending anything.
